Our light weight leathers are priced according to the size of each type of hide, with free shipping for all of our USA customers (yes, even our sheep hides ship free to you lucky ducks in AK and HI).
Customers outside of the USA are asked to pay actual shipping costs through our postal service.

This leather is smooth, very bright white, and has a bit of temper to it.
"A bit of temper" doesn't mean it growls and might bite, we mean that it's not very soft. It's not stiff either - it's right in the middle.

Third Quality White Deer Hides

These are full white tail deer hides, from right here in the USA.
Chrome tanned, dyed white (dye penetrates all the way through the leather), top grain (not splits).
These measure about 7 square feet in surface area per hide and are soft.
We're calling these third quality because, well, they just flat out aren't nice enough to be called second quality.
Yes, they're useful for crafts, but the hides have holes, bad spots, rough areas, defects, abrasions, cuts, bruises, and bad attitudes.
Expect to find bullet holes, arrow holes, scratches, cuts, and even tire tread marks, we kid you not.
The leather is 3 oz (a little under 1/16 of an inch)., Very, very soft.
Yes, these are rough but each hide has a lot of useful leather.

Kodiak Deer Hides

These are genuine Kodiak deer hides from Alaska, tanned by Uber in Minnesota in their natural tan color.
These are very soft, and very natural, complete with bullet holes and other natural defects in the skin's surface.
Medium hides run about 6 square feet of surface area.

Thin White Tail Deer Hides

These are skivers that were cut from chrome tanned white tail deer hides
This is USA deer leather.
Chrome tanned, dyed white (dye penetrates all the way through the leather),
but they look a little off-white to very light grayish in color.
The leather thickness ranges from 1 to 3 oz (1/64" to a little under 1/16 of an inch).
Very, very soft. How soft? Like an old t-shirt that you can't throw away because
it still has that stain on it from that Kansas concert at the Hollywood Sportatorium. It's special.

Thin Black Sheep Hides

These are full sheep hides, chrome tanned, all black, second quality.
Our thin black sheep hides run about 2.5-3 oz in thickness, and they're available in two sizes, which we decided to call Large and Small. That took some thinking.
The small thin hides are under 7 sq ft. Both sizes are very soft.
These are suitable for garments and many kinds of craft projects.
What's the catch? Simple - this is a mixed lot of hides, hard to find any two that are exactly alike.
There's a variety of surface grains and finishes, but all are black, most are smooth. Some have a hole or two.
We've priced them accordingly. Buy them one at a time or in groups of ten hides.

Our thick sheep hides are about 6 to 7 ounces per square foot, which is pretty thick for sheep. It's still soft though. These run about 8 sq ft per hide.
These are suitable for garments and many kinds of craft projects.

Black sheep hides run about 6 square feet of surface area and have a lightly sanded surface, which makes them look like nubuck or fine suede leather.
Rough around the edges - the leather feels a little stiff where it was trimmed around the legs and neck.

Has been imprinted with a lizard skin pattern/texture that looks and feels like an actual Sheep Lizard (extinct)

Oil Tanned Sheep Hides
Smooth or Bumpy

What you've got here are oil-tanned sheep hides in a natural light tan color.
These look like smoke tanned deer, a nice yellowish tan color with a rustic feel.
Oil tanned leather is waterproof to some extent, soft, and each hide is about 5 square feet in surface area.
Great for all types of Native American crafts. These have not been corrected or improved y the tannery at all -
each hide is the way it came off the animal. Bug bites, scratches, some staining here and there, etc.

We have two varieties - smooth surface, or natural bumpy surface (some call this Merino sheep), which is a little wrinkly bumpy convoluted looking.

Lined or Unlined Pig Hides

These were tanned specifically for covering chair seats. There's a polyurethane (plastic) layer bonded to the surface,
so these are wear and stain resistant. Sienna is a brownish yellow. Walnut is brown (rocket science). Harvest Gold color looks just like those kitchen appliances you used to own.
in the 1970s. Relive those great kitchen moments by using these hides to make stuff. Orange looks like an orange. Imagine that. Terra cotta looks like a flower pot.
The three in the left photo have a lining on the back, either leather or fabric, to keep the pigskin from stretching. That sort of reminds this writer of a Boy Scout camping trip many decades ago
where the patrol leader sent said writer hiking down the dirt road about ten miles to find the bacon stretcher that had somehow fallen out of the truck on the drive into the campsite.
Bacon stretcher, you ask? Yeah, right, I get it now too. I didn't get it back then. I walked, baby.
