Eyelets, Lacing Eyelets, Grommets, and Lacing Hooks


Brass Plated Steel Hexagonal Eyelets

These are the types of eyelets often used on boots or other industrial gear.  Heads are about 7/16" across, eyelet shaft length is about 3/16", shaft diameter is about 3/16".
Brass plated steel, gold in color.   These are best set with an eyelet setting tool, which is similar to a grommet setter -
has a round pin about the same diameter as the hole in these eyelets, and it rolls the edges out.

Brass Lacing Eyelets

Handy little doodads for lacing up the things in your life that need lacing up.  Like boots, mocassins, fly rod cases, custom-made chaps, etc.  Also, if you spill a few of
these on the floor and then walk around with your hiking boots on, we've discovered, for the rest of the day it sounds like you're a tap-dancer.  This can get you some weird looks in the barn.
That's only because the majority of the Barn Monkeys consider themselves to be ballroom dancers and they don't have much tolerance for other styles.
These short-shank eyelets are just right for setting in 3 to 6 oz leather.  You'll need an eyelet setter to place them correctly.

Antique Brass Lacing Eyelets

Same as the brass eyelets sold above, these are best used for total leather thicknesses of 3 to 6 oz (3/64 to 6/64 of an inch, Jasper).

These are really cool air vents for your sneakers, your purse, or your dive bag.  Set them like eyelets - they're made of brass and roll down easily.

Lacing Loops
Gunmetal Finish

These little loops attach using the sharp prongs on the back - just poke them through and bend the prongs over.
They're about 1/4" wide and stick up about 1/4" once you have them in place.

In a hurry?  These are called Speed Lacing Hooks but in spite of doing a lot of research we were not able to figure out
just how speedy they are.  Boot lacing is still just a demonstration sport at the olympics, so even the events we were able to
find (6 Eyelet Boot Lacing, Extreme Double Knotting Medley Relay, etc) didn't have any data we could sink our teeth into.
Still, when you want to get out the door in a hurry, these things work pretty well.
Nickel-plated steel, available in two styles (101 and 102, as shown above).  Attach with rivets.  Sold in bags of 50.

Brass Boot Hooks

Brass boot hooks are meant to be set with a hand press, but you can usually set them with a splash tool, like our post rivet setter.
Tube length is 5/32", outside dia is 3/16"

Plain or Fancy 1/4" Grommets

These grommets are steel with an antique brass finish.  1/4" inside diameter, with a total flange width of 1/2".  The tube is 3/16" long.
You'll need a grommet setter to roll the tube down properly - you can usually pick one up in the hardware store or near where they sell tarps in a department store.
These do not come with washers for the back - they can be set without the use of washers.
These are $5 per 100 grommets.  USA Postage is included.

Solid Brass Grommets

These grommets are solid brass with a bright brass finish.  Two sizes available, as shown.
These are really just big eyelets and DO NOT come with washers or anything else - just single part brass grommets.
