Suede Hides and Splits
Suede leather is rough
on both sides - and it's made that way on purpose.
This is great stuff to
use for many garments, but we also sell a lot of it to customers who line
boxes with it,
and also to our swing
dancing and ballroom dancing customers, who use suede on the bottom of
their shoes.
Suede allows some floor
sliding, but not so much that you'll end up in the judges' laps.

like suede on both sides. These hides feel heavy and thick - but
are still fairly soft.

Suede on Spools!
Ever seen a cow that's 100
feet long? If you answered yes, then it's time to lay off the Screwdrivers,
bub.
These spools contain over
100 feet of suede leather, dyed on the surface only, with a nice suede
surface.
Dark brown color, but we
also have black, red, and maroon. The strip is about 4-3/8" wide,
about 3.5 oz in thickness (1/16"),
and looks like it would
work well to wrap around handles or walking sticks, or to re-sole the bottom
of your dancing slippers. 50 times.
A spool weighs about 15
pounds. A lot of leather. As you might expect, there are seams
in the spool, and the seams are glued, not stitched, so they pull apart
easily.
If you hoped to use this
for mountain climbing you can forget it. This leather sat in a factory
for about 20 years, so there's dust and mildew on the outside, but the
inside looks like new.

Giraffe Suede
This is a nice gray cowhide
suede, very very soft, with a printed on giraffe pattern.
No, it's not from a real
giraffe. We knew you'd ask.
The pattern is printed on
in permanent ink.

Mocking Bird
Deep nappy suede double
butts run about 13-15 square feet each, 4 oz (1/16") in thickness, and
are very, very soft.
These have been printed
with an inked-on pattern that's called 'maze' and can make your eyeballs
go in tiny circles if you look at it long enough.
A nice garment leather.

Crazy Dots Suede
Suede double butts are about
4 feet by 4 feet and have little polka dots in a repeating pattern as shown.
Available in tan only (sold
out of red), but the dots on the tan are tough to see.
The back sides of these
hides are solid - no dots. Thank goodness.

Double Butts With a Basket
Print in Metallic Silver
Basket Weave
Nice double butt cowhides
average about 10 or 11 square feet each.
These are 3 oz thickness
(less than 1/16"), soft, and have been embossed with a zig-zag pattern
or a basket-weave pattern.
They've been finished with
a metallic sparkle coat in either gold or silver.
The silver is whitish looking,
but when it sparkles it sparkles silver. Like Vegas, baby.

out as suede leather, then they were run through a high pressure press
to impose this basket weave pattern on them.
Finally, an antique tipping
spray was used to give the surface a rustic, tarnished look. Very,
very cool.
