Marshall Fields Standard Box Trunk
with Two Trays Inside

consigned to our shop for sale
Made either by or for the
Marshall Fields Company (you remember - that's where you used to buy slacks
way back when they were called slacks),
this is a standard box trunk
from the 1890s with a very nice pair of stacking trays inside (great for
Christmas ornaments).
The outside is clean and
smooth, protected with several coats of tung oil.
Measures 37 inches wide
by 22 inches front to back, and stands 25 inches tall.
Handles are original and
are still in good shape.
Has our own replacement
dark brown straps to help keep it shut.
The top tray is pretty big,
but it hinges upward and there's a latch in the lid of the turnk that holds
it up there so you can paw around in the second tray.
Second tray lifts out to
allow access to the most remote reaches of the innards of this trunk.
