Connie did a great job of
keeping the pine boards nice and light toned on this trunk.
This trunk was probably
made back in the late 1800s, and it would have had a canvas or duck cloth
covering on the outside.
That old fabric is often
in terrible condition, so it's been removed, and the wood beneath has been
sanded and finished with a few coats of tung oil.
Tung oil creates an incredibly
durable finish that protects the trunk from all manner of liquids, and
all you ever have to do is dust it off now and then.
Measures 35 inches wide
by 21 inches front to back, and stands 23 inches tall.
Handles are original, but
still in good condition.
The original lock is still
attached, and it works just fine with the included key.
The inside is sanded smooth
and stained, ready for storing stuff. The tray is handy for storing
smaller items.

for us for over a decade. A note on personal checks - we don't mind
them a bit. We aren't one of those "hold your check for two weeks"
joints.
