HANDLE END CAPS

These go over the ends of your new handles, made of stamped steel with a dark brownish antiqued finish so that they look right at home on your old trunk.
Sized to fit over handles that are 1.25 inch wide, the normal size. We sell these in sets of four for $10, delivered to your door.
These are reproductions of the most common trunk handle end cap in the history of the planet.
These do not have pins - just nail your handles to the trunk, then nail these over the ends of the handles.
May be used with handles that have slots or unslotted handles - it doesn't matter.

FISH SCALE END CAPS - ANTIQUE FINISH

Modern reproductions of the popular fish scale end caps that were used on many trunks in the mid to late 1800s.
These are simply used to cover the end of a leather trunk handle. They'll fit over handles anywhere between 1' and 1-1/4" wide.
They're made of stamped steel and have a durable powder coated antiqued bronze finish.
You can paint them if you get the notion - that's up to you - but they look nice just the way they are.

BRASS HANDLE END CAPS

Made to fit our standard trunk handles, 1.25" wide.
These should be used with handles that have slots in them in order to allow the handle to slide back and forth in the bracket,
which allows the handle to lay flat against the side of the trunk when not in use.
These are brass-plated steel and are sold in sets of four for $10, USA shipping included.
We throw in four 1.5" brass nails that are intended to go through the center opening, then through the slot in the handle.
Again - these end caps come with the 4 center pin nails ONLY. If you ned more nails to attach these to your trunk please visit our Trunk Nails page.

HANDLE BRACKETS OR LOOPS
WITH PINS

Loop Style #1 (Stock Number LOOP1) -- brass, antique brass, or nickel finish, with pins.
These fit over slotted handles. Takes four nails to attach each loop, so you need a total of 16 nails to do one trunk (nails are not included).
Note that the handles don't need to be nailed to the trunk if you use these loops, the pins under the loops hold the handles in place,
and the slots allow the handle to lay flat against the trunk when not in use. Slick.

Handle Loop Brackets with No Pins

Loop Style #2 (Stock Number LOOP2) -- no pins
These babies fit over wide-end trunk handles like our TH-02 handles. Total of sixteen nails required to attach four loops to a trunk (not included).
Wide-end handles themselves do not need to be nailed to the trunk; the loop holds the handle in place.
The handles can move within the loop, so they lay flat against the trunk when not being gripped.
LOOP2 can also be used with slotted handles - just add your own center nail through the bracket and handle slot.
These are available in bright brass, antique brass, or nickel plated finish.
They have a polyurethane coating on them.

Loop Style #3

Loop Style #3 (Stock No. Loop3)(very imaginative)
These are smaller loops, often used on doll trunks or smaller boxes. They'll accept a handle that is no wider than 7/8" and no thicker than 3/8".
Brass finish, but not too terribly shiny. Attach with nails only because if you use screws strange voodoo things may happen to your trunk.

Small Brackets for TH-16 Small Wide End Handles

These small brackets fit our TH-16 wide end handles. They'll accept a handle that is 5/8" wide and no thicker than 3/16".
Brass finish only; bright and shiny. Holes for mounting are 1-1/2" on center.
No pins under these, so they must be used with handles that have a wide end (so they don't just slip through)

Small Brackets for TH-17 or Suitcase Handles

These small brackets fit our TH-17 suitcase handles. They'll accept a handle that is 3/4" wide and no thicker than 3/8".
Brass finish or nickel finish, bright and shiny. Holes for mounting are 1-1/2" on center.
These have pins so must be used on handles with slots in them.

NICKEL-PLATED Footman's Loops

These footman's loops are available in two sizes, as shown.
The larger ones fit over handles up to 1-1/2" wide, and the smaller ones have a 1" opening.
The height of the opening for the larger size is 3/8", height of the opening for the smaller loop is 1/4".
Nickel-plated steel (these have a shiny silver finish - no matter how the pictures above may look on your computer
monitor or cell phone or hipster cool pocket computing device, these babies are SILVER!)
with holes for nails or screws. These were common on automobile trunks in the 1930s and 1940s.

Leather Handle Loops

We make these ourselves right here in the shop. We wet form some very good quality harness leather in a
press that we built from scratch. This style of handle bracket or loop is commonly seen on trunks made in France a long time ago.
You know the guy. These do a pretty good job of imitating the originals, and we make them in tan, brown, and black (not shown).
Nail them on - nails are NOT included.
