Tanned Leather Scrap Our standard cowhide leather
scrap is all chromium-tanned leather that's left over from manufacturing
shoes, belts, and handbags.
Pieces range from small
strings to odd shapes about the size of your hand; a few that are a bit
bigger. Good for small projects, straps,
key fobs, that sort of thing
- or put some of it in an onion bag and stick it under your car seat to
get that new car smell back again.

Skirting Leather Scrap Left over from a major harness
making operation, this skirting leather comes from USA cows and is tanned
and finished in the USA as well.
Available in plain old tan
or oxblood (dark red or call it maroon or even burgundy if you want to
feel like a big shot).
Pieces range from stringy
bits to odd shapes about the size of your hand to random shaped larger
pieces
that might cover 1.5 sq
ft of total surface area (144 sq inches times 1.5).
Pieces you'll receive will
range in thickness from 8 to 10 oz up to 14 to 16 oz.

Thick Belting Leather
Scrap Three Color Choices Available This is nice veg tan/chrome
re-tanned belting cowhide, taanned and finished right here in the USA.
Thickness is about 8/9 oz,
which is about the same
as 1/8 of an inch. Single layers of this leather was being used to
make police and military belts. Scrap pieces are
generally quite large (for
scrap) and very clean. We have three options for you here:
All black (this is black on front and back, and struck through for the
most part),
Black/Tan (black on the
surface, tan on the edges and underside), and dark brown. Ten pound
boxes of any of the colors are priced at $60 flat, 48-state USA shipping
included. In the pull-down
menu below we also give you the option to purchase 5 pounds for $40, and
you also can choose a mixed box - we try to mix up the three options in
equal portions for you with
this option. Great leather for making handles or shorter straps,

industry - what you've got right here is soft and thin leathers, almost
all cowhide or calf hide, in a random
mix of colors, patterns,
and tempers. Pieces are larger than average for scrap, ranging from
the size of your hand up to a couple of square feet of total surface area.

and shapes - random selection. Because it's mostly thin you
get a lot of leather per pound.

Weight Cowhide Scrap, Looks Like Deer Hide Available in Earth Tones, Reds, Black,
or White These are good-sized pieces
of cowhide side leathers, running about 3.5 to 4.5 oz in thickness.
Soft leather has a nice feel, similar to deer hide and tanned to look like
deer hide.
This is useful leather for
Native American craft projects, anything outdoorsy-looking, and for uses
where you don't want the leather to look bright and shiny. This is
unfinished leather,
which means it has been
chrome-tanned and dyed, but that's it. No finishing oils, no waterproofing
treatments, so it's ready for you to do whatever you want with it.
The pieces are large for scrap leather.
All pieces will be larger
than your hand, and most run about one square foot (by this we mean 144
total square inches of surface area or bigger - not a 12x12 square,
but odd shapes that have
a total surface area greater than 144 total square inches). You can
purchase black, white, our red mix, which contains a mixtures of
red shades, or our earth tone mix, which contains various shades of brown
and tan.
Sold in 5-pound or 10-pound

You get a lot of square

Chrome Suede Splits!
Dance Shoe Splits! Small Suede Panels for
Small Projects Chrome-tanned cowhide suede
split panels, soft and colorfast.
These are partial hides
that we call panels; they run about 8-10 inches wide by 10-12 inches long.
Large enough to cover the
bottom of a pair of shoes, or a couple of pairs if you're just using this
on the heel and toe area.
Thickness is 3 to 4 oz,
which is just about 1/16 of an inch.

Hides These are skivers that were
cut from chrome tanned white tail deer hides
This is USA deer leather.
Chrome tanned, dyed white
(dye penetrates all the way through the leather),
but they look a little off-white
to very light grayish in color.
The leather thickness ranges
from 1 to 3 oz (1/64" to a little under 1/16 of an inch).
Very, very soft. How
soft? Like an old t-shirt that you can't throw away because
it still has that stain
on it from that Kansas concert at the Hollywood Sportatorium. It's
special.

Alligator or Crocodile
Embossed Cowhide Scrap Embossed cowhide looks a
lot like the real thing, but it's just cowhide. They do a good job
of making it look like real alligator or crocodile
leather. This stuff
is jet black, and we sell it in ten pound boxes for $50 flat, 48-state
shipping included.
The leather is about 4 oz
in thickness (1/16 of an inch) and is fairly firm. Pieces are rather
large for scrap, and every so often you'll find a piece of
some other embossed pattern
in there, like lizard or basket weave.

Small Cowhide Leather Craft Panels,
Black What's we're selling here
are sets of three leather panels from one of the USA's best tanners.
These panels run between
1 and 2 sq ft of surface area, drum dyed black and embossed with a haircell
(very fine grain) texture. Regular temper - not too soft, not too
stiff.
Thickness is 2.75-3 oz,
or less than 1/16 of an inch. Good leather for making wallets, cases,
or accessories.
